Dr. V.ChandraMohanan Nair
Dr. V.ChandraMohanan Nair belongs to 1979 Batch of COVAS Mannuthy.
He graduated in 1984 .He started his career as a Veterinary Surgeon in Animal
Husbandry Department at VD Badiadka, Kasaragod. He put personal effort to effect the
completion of the civil works of the largest campus of AHD in Kasaragod District. He
left the institution in 1988 after moving the hospital to the modern building .Worked
as Veterinary Surgeon, VPC, Kanjirappally from 1/88 to 9/90 and as Veterinary
Surgeon in Central Hatchery, Chengannur from 9/90 to 9/92, Veterinary Surgeon VPC,
Chengannur from 9/92 to 3/95, Veterinary Surgeon VD, Kulanada from 3/95 to 1/98.
He was promoted as APO, RAIC, Nilambur, Malappuram in 1/98. He was posted as
Assistant Director (Training) in Central Hatchery, Chengannur in 2000 and continued his
service in Central Hatchery till 2006. He is serving as Senior Veterinary Surgeon, VPC,
Chengannur since then.
While working as Veterinary Surgeon, VD, Kulanada, Pathanamthitta in
1997, he designed a nomination format for honouring the best Livestock Farmer of the
District. The best farmer was awarded from nominations collected from different Vet
Institutions. The nomination contained fields for mixed farming, innovative ideas and
their implementation. This was way before the Department considered such interferences
in AH Sector.
During his tenure as the Assistant Director, Training in Central
Hatchery, Chengannur, Poultry Training Institute developed a positive build up and
witnessed streamlining of the training programmes. It was during this period the Training
institute bagged the National Award for the Student friendly institutions, offering field
training for VHSE students for the first time. In those days of computer infancy, the
institute successfully produced a Malayalam presentation on Japanese Quail Farming,
which was used by the LMTCs at Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur for their training
programmes. While working as Senior Veterinary Surgeon, VPC, Chengannur he took
personal effort and pain to renovate the dilapidated VPC, building. He also took initiative
to build a new Operation Theatre for animals and a training hall for farmers.
He was an active member of the TNA team of the Department and co
ordinated various IMG Training programmes.

Husbandry Department at various institutes, he has attended Two weeks training onZoonoses at IVRI, Kolkata in 2002.
One week Training on Participatory Training Methods at EEI, Hyderabad in 2005.
Two weeks training on Livestock Production Management at IVRI Kolkata in February
2008.
