MINUTES OF 1ST EXECUTIVE COMMITTIE MEETTING OF IVA, KERALA
         The 1st executive committee meeting of IVA, Kerala was held at Veterinarians Building, Trissur on 26/02/2010. The meeting started with a silent prayer. Dr. Dinesh C N, President, IVA welcomed the gathering. Dr. Ramesan V K, President, IVA has explained the activities of the previous month including the memorandum given to the Secretary to Government & the memorandum for Veterinary University. The General Secretary presented the minutes of the 2nd state committee meeting.Dr. Leeba Chacko,Sec,IVA, Wayanad presented the CD  prepared by the unit which included all necessary forms & reports ,salary bill formats etc needed in the Veterinary Dispensaries . Dr. Saiprasad, Treasurer explained the urgent need to collect subscriptions in order to meet the day to day expenses and to organize state level programs .The Executive Committee congratulated  Dr. Pradip Kumar, Secretary , Kasargod Unit which completed 80% subscription and remitted the Central Share.

4. Pay revision
Authorized the pay revision committee of the Association to take any
suitable decision  regarding pay revision
5. Other Decisions
a) Authorized the THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Unit to pay the News Letter Bills & adjust the amount from the Central Share of subscription
b)  Ratified the  amount of Rs 5000/ paid by the Kozhikkode unit     for  Free SMS package and allowed it to be adjusted from the Central Share .
c) Ratified the amt of Rs. 1335   paid by the Trissur Unit as Expenses of 1st State Committee Meeting & Rs750 for press conference and allowed it to be adjusted from the Central share.
d) Decided to market the CD prepared by IVA ,Wayanad thro’gh district units

MINUTES OF THE 2ND STATE COMMITTIE MEETTING OF INDIAN VETERINARY ASSOCIATION HELD AT TRISSUR ON 31/01/2010 AT TRISSUR

The 2nd state committee meetting of Indian Veterinary Association was held at Trissur on 31/01/2010.The Representatives from  Trivandrum,Kollam,Pathanamthitta,Alappuzha,Kottayam,Ernakulam,trissur,Palakkad, Malappuram  & Kozhikode were present.Dr.Dinesh C N, President IVA Trissur welcomed the gathering . Dr. Ramesan in his presidential address explained the details of the press conference on FMD held at Trissur on 30/01/2010. Dr. George Varghese, Gen.Sec. presented the minutes of previous meeting & explained the Technical Committee Report on FMD by the Committee headed by Dr. Ramakumar. In the discussion that followed  all members aired their apprehensions about the quality of vaccine used and they demanded the quality check of the vaccine by an independent agency. Dr. Yohannan presented his findings on the technical aspects of this FMD outbreak and his suggestions were well appreciated.

Decisions taken:

1.Jiva Editor: Dr. Laiju M Philip,Veterinary Surgeon,Veterinary Dispensary,Mannarakkad,Palakkad (dist) was nominated as Jiva Editor.The Editorial Board shall be decided later.

3.Farm Journalism Award: Dr. Yohannan informed the committee that nominations are being received and the last date of receipt of nominations has been extended to 20/02/2010

4.FMD Technical Committee Report: It was decided to include the  important recommendations in the representation to be given to the government and in the forthcoming discussions with the Secretary to Government
5.World Zoonoses Day:Trissur dist. shall host this years World Zoonoses Day and the theme Veterinary Contribution to Public Health
6.Subsciption:It was decided to fix Rs 350 as central share of subscription & 150 as district share
6.Other matters: Dr.Rajesh ,Sec,Thiruvananthapuram had pointed out instances wherethe proposal for transit insurance issued in TN state is used for issuing policy in the Oriental Insurance Co,Thiruvananthapuram. It was decided to take up the matter with the Company.

Minutes of 4th state executive committee of IVA Posted on: 2010-08-25

   The 4th STATE EXECUTIVE COMMITTIE of Indian Veterinary Association, Kerala was held at Veterinarians building,Thiruvananthapuram on 09 /08/2010.Representatives from Kollam,Ernakulam, ,Alappuzha, Malappuram & Trivandrum were present. Dr. Giridhar, President,IVA Thiruvananthapuram welcomed the gathering. Dr. V K  Ramesan in his presidential Address pointed out the need to study well the  different provisions of the Veterinary University Ordinance and to suggest necessary changes. The General Secretary presented the minutes of the previous executive. Dr.Naveen ,pointed out that his name has been excluded from the list of participants in the previous executive . The General Secretary expressed regret & the minutes was passed with the following change

 ‘The name MALAPPURAM shall be included in the sentence starting with ‘Representatives from…..” 

Discussions & Decisions

1.Dairy 2010:

The Quotation submitted by M/S Memory Lane ,Kochi  for Rs.97/ per dairy was accepted.(Size 21.5*14cm,70gsm art paper quality,leather cover with gold coloured metal clips, no delivery charges, 2 dates per page,multicolour 14 pages.additional 80 pages for names & phone no). Entrusted Dr. Biju Chemparathy, Convener to further negotiate the rates without compromising quality. It was decided to send the details of members & phone nos from each district on or before 15/09/2010.The deadline shall not be extended under any circumstances . In case of districts which fail to comply this the existing data shall be included in the new dairy 

2. Survey & Feedback of schemes involving purchase of animals from outside state

The General Secretary informed that Dr. Biju, President , IVA,Palakkad has not mailed the questionnaire . The executive felt that this has to be done professionally& it was decided to approach The Veterinary College, Pookot for conducting the pilot study. The Kerala State Veterinary Council can also be approached for the same. 

3.Science Congress

The executive expressed the displeasure in preparing the Brochure without consulting the State Office bearers and without following the standard protocol.The brochure shall be changed with suitable modifications before distribution. 

4. The representation given by Dr. M O Kurien,Associate Professor,College of Agri. , Vellayani was discussed. It was decided to represent the Special officer to develop the Department of AH in The College of Agri. Vellayani  as a  Southern region Camp office & research station under the Veterinary University.

5.Decided to conduct a workshop on the various recommendations to be included in the final draft of the Veterinary University Bill. 

6.The Kerala State Veterinary Council may be approached to conduct a Workshop on the pros & cons of introducing Monte beliard cattle for breeding in Kerala. Representatives of all stakeholders including KLDB, Animal husbandry,Veterinary Colleges & Associations may be involved in the workshop. 

7.Annual Convention could not be discussed for want of representation from Trissur district.

8. Depl. Reorganization shall be discussed in the combined executive
