Dr. George Chandy, currently serving as Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery and Radiology at COVAS, Pookot own a rich experience in the field of Veterinary
Surgery and has won several laurels for his accomplishments in the area
over the years. Having pursued his graduate, post-graduate
and doctoral educations from three different Veterinary Colleges of the
country, Thrissur, Madras and Bangalore, all on National merits of
(ICAR) Junior (1998) and Senior Research fellowships (2001), Dr Chandy
is specialized in small animal soft tissue and orthopedic surgery with
special emphasis on spinal surgery. A gold Medalist for MVSc and Ph.D.,
this young surgeon has bagged several awards and distinctions at
National level for his research undertakings. Young Surgeon award (2005), Appreciation award (2005) and Best Paper award (2006) of the Indian
Society for Veterinary Surgery are some of them. He is also the life
member of several professional societies of Veterinary Surgery like the
Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery, Society of Postgraduates in
Veterinary Surgery and Indian Society for Advancement in Canine
practice, hence constantly updating his surgical know-how on the
emerging trends in the field. He has more than 60 publications and
presentations to his credit during the short span of his career as a
Veterinary Surgery expert.
